The works by Grażyna Bacewicz, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Franz Schubert each represent unique stops along this summer’s rich musical journey. Bacewicz’s Suite for Two Violins energetically showcases virtuosic dialogue between two violins, setting the stage for our thrilling exploration. Gabriela Lena Frank’s Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout for String Quartet transports the listener to the Andean mountains, weaving cultural storytelling into the fabric of the music. Schubert’s String Quintet in C Major takes us to a profound culmination of emotional depth. Together, these pieces start our journey, traversing technical brilliance, cultural landscapes, and deep emotional expression.
