As an artist-led collective, Decoda seeks to create a more compassionate and connected world through music—thoughtfully curating outstanding performances of live chamber music, facilitating creative community projects, and inspiring the next generation of musical artists to rethink and reimagine their role in society. Decoda’s 2023–2024 season includes engagements with the San Antonio Chamber Music Society, NOLA Chamber Fest, Southern Exposure New Music Series, Livewire, Musical Masterworks, Við Djúpið Festival in Iceland, and more, as well as creative community collaborations and residencies with
partners such as Lake City Community Alliance and ArtFields in Lake City, South Carolina; Musical Masterworks and the town of Old Lyme, Connecticut; the New York Youth Symphony; Arts Center of Kershaw County; University of North Carolina School of the Arts; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; University of South Carolina; and Columbia University. Spring 2024 also sees the release of Decoda’s long-awaited debut album, DECODA. Music for Transformation, a long-standing partnership with communities of incarcerated musicians across the country, has resulted in the creation of hundreds of original songs and pieces of new music that Decoda proudly
shares on concert stages around the world. In 2015 and 2016, the Obama administration honored this initiative with invitations to share this work at the White House.

The Decoda Chamber Music Festival celebrates its 10th season at its new home of Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina, offering young pre-professional artists the opportunity to collaborate and grow alongside Decoda faculty members during an immersive, weeklong summer festival. Decoda was founded in 2012 by musicians who first collaborated as members of Ensemble Connect, a two-year fellowship program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute, in partnership with the New York City Department of Education. In recognition of its members’ ongoing success as artists, educators, and advocates for music,
Decoda is the only independent ensemble to be recognized as an affiliate ensemble of Carnegie Hall. Learn more at decodamusic.org.
