Wave dance is a free-form dance experience that encourages spontaneous movement without the need for choreography or prior experience. Participants are invited to explore movement together in a welcoming space with music that follows a wave-like progression from slow to fast and back to stillness. The event begins with a 30-minute warm-up period, followed by an opening circle to set intentions and guidelines. The dance itself lasts 65-75 minutes, allowing participants to express their emotions and connect with their bodies and with each other through movement. The experience concludes with a brief sound bath for integration.

We emphasize respect for personal space, non-verbal communication, and the importance of being present in the moment, as the dance serves as a medium for healing, joy, empowerment, and community-building.

Theme/Invitation: Ebb and Flow

Embrace the rhythms as you dance through waves of joy and sorrow, allowing each movement to reflect the ebb and flow of your emotions. Find freedom in the transitions, celebrating the beauty of connection and the release of that which no longer serves you.

Van Gogh to his brother: “It is true there is a withering and budding in love as in nature, but nothing dies entirely. It is true there is an ebb and flow, but the sea remains the sea.”
